Woodland softball team seeks funds for trip to regionals
After taking first place Grand Sacramento Softball Association Championships, the 10U Girls Fastpitch Woodland All Star team will be fundraising over the coming weeks with all funds going towards their trip to the West Regionals in San Diego.The first event will be a car wash Saturday from 8 am to 14 hours in front of the power supply 4 Less 451 Pioneer Ave. They will be back in the same place on July 30, also from 8:00 until 2:00 p.m.
On July 22 the team will take their Enchilada Dinner. The plates will cost $ 7 with a choice of beef, chicken or cheese. Pickup will be from 5 to 19 hours at the Community Center.Call Sara Andrade at 662-1472 to place an order.
The team will be fundraising to Steve Pizza 714 Main Street July 25. The team will receive 15 percent of all sales of 4 to 9 pm
The Western Regional in San Diego begins Aug. 5. This is the first time the All Star 10U Division has earned a place in the West Regional.
California Breeze - Douglass Middle School student Marissa Arizaga and the Sacramento-based team of 12 will travel to Montgomery, Alabama, to play in the ASA 12U National Championships starting July 30.
The travel softball team, which is looking for sponsors for the trip, goes to the Nationals for the third consecutive year.
